Still the Best Kept Secret

Westdale/Trousdale is often referred to as the Bel Air of Mar Vista and with good reason. There is something about Westdale/Trousdale that keeps it very special and qualifies it as an area often mentioned in discussion as one of the nicer areas to reside in. There continues to be a strong sense of community and pride of ownership in Westdale. Homes are well kept, lawns are manicured and homeowners are often improving and upgrading their homes as opposed to selling them and moving elsewhere.

This fact from the perspective of the Real Estate agent is good news and bad news. The good news is . . . the neighborhood needs no introduction or sales pitch, it truly speaks for itself. The bad news is . . . homeowners love the area so much they rarely ever move. This keeps inventory low and always at a premium.

Another point worth making about Westdale/Trousdale is the low density, low traffic environment. Many of the streets are cul-de-sac or opposite from major streets keeping the area very private and almost hidden. People enjoy taking lovely walks along the streets, strolling with young children, jogging, and roller blading. Never the less, the area is easily accessible to both the 10 and 405 freeways and convenient to a myriad of shopping centers, restaurants, and services. Mar Vista Elementary School and Mar Vista Recreation Center with its pool, playground, and tennis courts are both in walking distance. Westdale/Trousdale also now has its very own miniature village consisting of a Blockbuster Video, Jamba Juice, Whole Foods Market, Noah’s Bagel, Robek’s Juice, and of course, a Starbucks for everyone to enjoy.

I am proud to tell people that I grew up in the neighborhood and lived on Barry Avenue until I moved out of my parents’ home at age 20. So pleased with the area, I purchased my own home here in Westdale/Trousdale and enjoyed it the following six years.
