Great Public Schools = Added Value
Private schools are outstanding, but incredibly expensive in Los Angeles. To send two children to private school through High School can cost nearly $60,000, which in some cases, is a family’s earnings for an entire year. The idea of private school may seem good at the outset, but when reality sets in, or circumstances change, it can be difficult to continue. Buying in a neighborhood with outstanding public schools means a lot to those who are education minded. Ron is proud to represent homes in some of the best Westside areas offering great public school education. As property owners, you pay a lot for property taxes and why shouldn’t these taxes pay to educate your children?
Some of the important schools often requested are: Westwood Charter Elementary, Warner Avenue Elementary, Roscomare School, Mar Vista Elementary School, Beethoven Elementary, Overland Elementary, and Fairburn Elementary. Culver City public schools are also tremendous. Equally important are the Santa Monica schools, including Grant Avenue Elementary, Will Rogers, Roosevelt, and Franklin Elementary. There are so many schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District and the Santa Monica/Malibu Unified School District that add value to homes in the area. For example, Westwood Charter Elementary, a school I support regularly, draws people to the neighborhood.
People who wish to live on the Westside, close to Century City or UCLA, are drawn to Westwood Charter and Fairburn Elementary, especially. These schools are well known for providing outstanding educations, have excellent test scores in Math, Reading, and Science. Many of the homeowners in this neighborhood are academic minded, professional people, including physicians, attorneys, business managers, and entrepreneurs. Westwood Charter Elementary is supported by the community. Buyers are willing to stretch their buying dollars in order to live in this neighborhood. Homeowners consistently find that their homes retain their value due to the quality education these schools provide. Over a period of several years, buyers also save thousands of dollars by avoiding private school tuition, especially when they have two or more children.
Hire an agent who knows the value of a good, local public school. When it comes to selling your home in the future, the extra dollars you pay today will go a long way, not only toward the sale price, but toward the quality of buyers you will attract.
